Birthdays & Earthquakes

Well, I turned 31 (aka, Thirty-onederful) on the 7th. I used to dread getting older, but now I don't seem to care much that another year has passed. We didn't do much to celebrate because we have Fancy and she acts like a fool every time we go to a restaurant. On the Sunday before we drove to Wichita to visit my grandparents and do church and lunch. I have no pictures from this because it was such a nice day we sat on their patio all afternoon while Emma played in the yard. Which made the trip home one of the most enjoyable we've had. She was so worn out from playing that she fell asleep before we had even backed out of their driveway. Score!

I did get this from Matt:

The Le Creuset 7.5 qt dutch oven. Love it! I have the 5.5 qt, but it's just not quite big enough for a big batch of soup. Now, if we can just get that dang house in Mississippi sold so we can get out of this apartment...then I will be more enthused about cooking a big batch of soup. Have I mentioned how much I love apartment life? Oh I do. Especially, on nights like last night when the neighbor is having a party and playing techno music super loud until the wee hours of the morning. It was awesome.  Who even knew techno music was still in? Or that people had dance parties at their apartments? Pretty lame if you ask me.

The only other exciting (terrifying) thing to happen was the earthquake. It was a 5.6 and I've decided I don't like earthquakes. Neither does Kirk Herbstreit...

I think Kirk and I would both appreciate it if that never happened again.
