Time flies....

My niece, Brooklyn, turned 6 this week. But I still refuse to believe she is growing up! I just can't believe it and I wonder where the years have gone. She no longer believes everything I say and most of the time she rolls her eyes at me because she knows what I am saying is not true. Not that I don't love her dearly as a 6 year old, but I would be lying if it didn't seem like just yesterday she was this big:

I called her on her birthday and told her that I had heard that someone was having a birthday that day and she just starts laughing and goes "that's me silly!" So I asked her how old she was and she goes "6." I told her she was getting so old and before long she would be in a wheelchair, to which she goes, "Aunt Jenna, you're sooooooo crazy!"

But even though I miss her as a baby, I have so much fun with this kid now that I can only imagine the stories that will come with time. She was the flower girl in Matt and I's wedding and being able to witness her excitement at being a part of the day was wonderful. I will NEVER forget standing in the back of the church with her and Dad when she turned around and said to me, "now Jenna, if you don't cry, I won't cry." That about made me lose it right there. And then her command of "GIVE ME THE BOY" when Jared and I were trying to decide whether Ethan would walk down the aisle or not was one of the funniest things she's ever done.

So even though she is aging at an alarming rate, I'm just blessed that I have the coolest niece ever and that I get to watch her grow up.
